MISSION STATEMENT

The Freedom Within Foundation’s mission is to reduce the rate of recidivism—men and women returning to prison—by implementing cognitive restructuring curriculum and coordinating reentry programs: a network of community-based organizations that provide parolees lodging, treatment, education, job training, and supportive network services.

VISION

Believing that formally incarcerated persons can change, the Freedom Within Foundation's reentry program is a life-changing rehabilitation process that stops the “revolving door effect” of offenders returning to prison—empowering men and women to rejoin society and unlock their unlimited potential as responsible, productive, and trustworthy citizens.

GOAL

The primary goal of the Freedom Within Foundation is to implement reentry educational programs and to coordinate the efforts of key community stakeholders: local government officials, law enforcement agencies, chief probation officers, police chiefs, district attorneys, mayors, city council members, mental health professionals, drug/alcohol professionals, county administrative officials, county public works, chamber of commerce, legislators, victim’s advocates, association representatives, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation local parole officers, educators, and community-based organizations/agencies.
